Danskin introduces the first knit tights and leotards while popularizing the use of 'ballet pink' and 'theatrical pink' in the use of ballet tights.

Dominates the market for dancewear in the USA and introduces Danskin for gymnasts and figure skaters.

Danskin acquires its trademark name by combining 'dance' & 'skin'. Creates the first nylon bodywear for the general population expanding into the fashion sector.

The first Danskin 'streetwear' is launched. By adding convenient snaps to a dance leotard and updating the styling to make it more fashionable, the bodysuit is born.

By the end of the decade, Danskin boasts an 80% share of the USA bodywear market.

The Danskin Pro athleticwear is introduced as the global trend for fitness classes and aerobic exercise grows. The first Plus Size dancewear line is released  later in the same decade.

The Danskin Women's Triathlon Series is launched across six US cities with more than 10,000 participants. Grows to become the largest woman only sporting events.

The 'Move With' campaign launches.

The New York City Ballet names Danskin the official tight of the NYCB.

 

Danskin is ranked #23 in WWD's Top 100 Brands and #5 for activewear ahead of Puma and Converse.

The 'Move With' campaign launches promoting women's fitness and wellbeing.  Ambassadors include Jenny McCarthy, Hilary Duff, Padma Lakshmi and Christie Brinkley.

Since Summer 2017 Jenna Dewan Tatum has been the global face of Danskin.  A celebrity who does it all - movie star, television host, producer, dancer, wife and mother, Jenna is a role model for women's wellbeing.
